Douglas had a Tacoma Prerunner and decided to go with the Tuff Country 5 inch lift.   The big question that had been floating around was did you have to cut the crossmember to install the kit on a Prerunner.   We now have the answer to that question!

If you have any questions, you can E-mail Douglas directly.   Thanks for the info and pictures Douglas!!

Here are trhe answers to a few common questions that Douglas has has recieved:

I have recieved some questions on the steering rack vertical bolt...Here is my experience...
If a person chooses to not cut the crossmember on a prerunner, then they must obtain a new nut and bolt for the steering rack. (the vertical mounting bolt) The stock bracket will be in the way of the stock bolt.  I used a piece of stock thread that I had laying around.

steering rack hoses....
Personally , if someone was to obtain new fitting for the steering hoses , I still feel that they would have to cut some metal off...It is just to damm close , even with a L-Fitting...

Douglas had three boxes as he also got the shocks.
The contents of his kit....

Here are the shocks.   Tuff Countrys shocks are made by Gabriel.   They have a cellular gas SX6000 which is
basically the same as RS5000, but with poly bushings. Or a nitro gas SX8000 (pressurized).

We are not going to cover the entire lift, just changes and things that we didnt do.

For tires and wheels Douglas went with MT Classics 15x8 and the tires are 33/12.50/15's.   He reports that there is no rubbing
anywhere.    When I asked him how he liked the new setup he had this to say:

"The ride almost seems smoother that stock.  The alignment shop said it was
off a little.  They had no problem aligning it and my steering wheel is
perfectly straight...I am totally impressed."

You will be too!   Check out his truck now!
