John has been in the ‘outdoors world’ since he was 12. Growing up in South Texas, John spent time wheeling the beaches of South Padre Island, hiking the Texas Hill Country, and the back roads of Texas. In High School, John did extremely well in Physical and Marine Science, also acquiring his HAM radio licenses at 16. After Graduating, John joined the Coast Guard and became an Electronics Technician. While stationed in California he got back into four-wheeling after meeting Peter Parks. This time in the mountains of Mendicino National Forest and the Sierra Madre. After getting out of the Coast Guard, John moved to Western Colorado and contributes to the Grand Mesa Jeep club, Absolute Off-Road, Parks Off-Road, and many other venues.

John still lives in Grand Junction Co, and frequents Moab and the San Juan Mountains.
